Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an OB Technician to support the Labor and Delivery Unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The technician performs non-nursing duties, directs other OB Technicians, and ensures timely setup of delivery rooms and equipment.

The role includes training new technicians, maintaining equipment, assisting with patient transport, and keeping supplies stocked. Requires a High School diploma and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs and checks the work of other OB Technicians.
• Assists RN when patient is in the recovery, delivery, and Cesarean delivery rooms.
• Welcomes patients to the unit and escorts them to the appropriate room.
• Transports patients to delivery, Cesarean, ultrasound or postpartum areas as indicated.
• Keeps utility and supply rooms neat and well organized.
