Job summary

Boston Government Services seeks a Uranium Processing Facility Safety Technical Support to assist at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. Role focuses on nuclear facility safety per 10 CFR 830 Subpart B and DOE standards.

Responsibilities include hazard analyses, safety basis development, and mentoring 3–5 new hires over 2–3 years. This is a fully onsite position with a 4/10 schedule (Mon.-Thu.).

Qualifications

• Hazard identification, screening, and evaluation with documentation in safety analyses.
• Familiar with DOE safety standards and DOE- BN/Boards considerations.
• Lead Facility Safety Engineer experience in complex nuclear facilities.
• Experience at Y-12 developing safety basis documents.
• Mentor 3–5 new hires over 2–3 years.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated experience in hazard identification, screening, and evaluation; document safety requirements.
• Shadow and address DOE Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board issues as applicable.
• Serve as Lead Facility Safety Engineer in 9212 or 9215 Complexes.
• Develop safety basis documents for Y-12 projects.
• Train and mentor 3 to 5 new hires over 2–3 years.
