Job Description

The Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist assists the Clinical Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Nuclear medicine department. The role is responsible for accreditation maintenance and performs a variety of complex imaging and non-imaging tests on patients of all ages from neonatal to geriatric, requiring professional judgment and interaction with patients, physicians, and other allied health care professionals. The technologist works independently, with technical supervision available as needed. Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine, Positron Imaging, radiation safety and the ability to evaluate results and determine the need for concomitant or additional studies is required.

Certification & Licensures

ARRT (N), ARRT(R), or NMTCB certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required.

BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required.

  • Successful completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology training program.
  • New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Qualifications

  • Communication skills necessary to relate to physicians, peers, and patients on a professional and technical level.
  • Management skills necessary to organize daily workflow and make staffing assignments.
  • Ability to serve as a preceptor for new employees/trainees.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development and competence in providing Nuclear Medicine services for patients of all ages including neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
