Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls engineer to lead and support both small and large controls projects for nuclear power plants. You will coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to ensure technical execution and project success.

Responsibilities include developing digital control system designs, preparing requirements and procurement specs, interfacing with clients, and reviewing technical reports.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• 10+ years of instrumentation and controls design experience in projects.
• PE license is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience serving as a client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
• Experience reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support small and large controls projects with focus on technical execution and project management.
• Develop digital systems design (PLC, DCS, HSI, networked computer systems).
• Prepare control system requirements and procurement specifications.
• Interface with the client to ensure proper project execution and satisfaction.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and studies.
• Manage resources and develop estimates for task completion and budgeting.
• Support the development of proposals.
• Review diagrams and drawings for new/upgraded controls solutions.
• Evaluate vendor bids from a technical perspective.
• Interface with vendors for document reviews and FAT witness on behalf of the client.
• Support project implementation at client facilities.
