Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of journalism experience.
• Editing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience on climate/environment beat preferred.
• Comfort working in a digital newsroom.
• Ability to manage a team in hybrid environment.
• Excellent organizational and deadline-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan NHPR's daily and long-term news coverage and publishing strategy.
• Manage and edit a small team of reporters; assign stories and shepherd to publication.
• Oversee daily news desk; edit and publish stories for broadcast and NHPR.org.
• Ensure journalism adheres to high ethical standards.
• Act as a face of the newsroom to external audiences.
• Participate in on-air fundraising as needed.
