New Hampshire Public Radio, Inc. seeks a Senior News Editor to shape NHPR's journalism strategy online and on air, leading a small reporter team and collaborating with newsroom leaders to push innovative, actionable climate storytelling.

The role reports to the VP of News, oversees By Degrees climate reporting, and helps guide editorial direction while maintaining high ethical standards and engaging diverse audiences from Concord, NH.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of journalism experience; broadcast experience preferred.
• Editing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience on climate/environment beat preferred.
• Comfort working in a digital newsroom and hybrid environment.
• Ability to manage a team of reporters and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to write quickly for broadcast and understand FCC rules.

Responsibilities

• Plan NHPR's daily and long-term news coverage and publishing strategy with the VP of News.
• Manage and edit a small team of reporters and assign stories.
• Oversee the daily news desk; edit and publish stories for broadcast and NHPR.org.
• Ensure journalism adheres to high ethical standards.
• Act as a face of the newsroom to external audiences as needed.
• Participate in on-air fundraising as needed.
