NHPR, based in Concord, NH, seeks a Senior News Editor to shape our journalism strategy online and on air. You will lead a small reporting team, collaborate with leaders, and drive climate reporting initiatives through By Degrees to reach diverse audiences.

The role is full-time, on-site in Concord. Requirements include 7+ years in journalism and editing experience; climate beat experience is preferred. A strong emphasis on ethics and audience engagement is part of daily work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of journalism experience; broadcast background preferred.
• Experience editing a small team of reporters.
• Experience on climate/environment beat preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan NHPR's daily and long-term news coverage and publishing strategy.
• Edit and shepherd a team of reporters to publication.
• Oversee daily news desk for broadcast and NHPR.org, including newscasts and audio stories.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in journalism.
• Collaborate with VP of News and other editors.
