Job summary

Ulster BOCES in New York seeks a Network Systems Specialist III to oversee and enhance LAN/WAN, virtualization, and security for MHRIC and member districts. You will collaborate with staff, districts, vendors, and service providers to deliver robust, secure technology services.

The role emphasizes problem solving, project planning, and continuous learning as technology evolves in the Hudson Valley.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 15 CS credits and 4 years technical experience in a computer center.
Associate degree with 15 CS credits and 6 years technical experience in a computer center.
High school diploma or GED with 8 years of technical experience in a computer center.
Equivalent training and experience combination accepted.

Responsibilities

Design LAN/WAN systems, servers, switches, and security for MHRIC and customers.
Maintain internal MHRIC network infrastructures and perform upgrades.
Ensure readiness of the Disaster Recovery site and DR planning.
Install LAN/WAN software upgrades and patches as available.
Lead technical discussions on hardware, software and application enhancements.
Provide high level diagnosis and troubleshooting for MHRIC and customers.
Lead the disaster recovery effort and coordinate with vendors.
