Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS in Dallas, TX is seeking a Lead Network Security Engineer to support a critical national security mission in a highly classified environment. The role requires independent work and a strong hands-on background in enterprise networking, network security, firewall administration, and infrastructure troubleshooting.

You will design, implement, and manage enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, VLANs, ACLs, VPNs, and secure segmentation.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Eight+ years of network engineering, operations, or security experience.
• Experience in enterprise, defense, intelligence, federal government, or regulated environments.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise networking and firewall platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead secure network engineering, administration, and operational support in a highly classified environment.
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers/switches, firewalls, VLANs, ACLs, VPNs.
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise firewall environments.
• Configure and manage firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, security zones, logging, and monitoring.
• Support Cisco Firepower and FMC; Cisco ISE experience preferred.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2/3 networking, routing, switching, access control issues.
• Support AAA, 802.1X, RMF, STIG, secure configuration, and NAC requirements.
• Develop network diagrams, SOPs, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems administration, and mission teams to deliver secure solutions.
• Contribute to incident response, outages, root cause analyses, and remediation.
• Monitor performance and recommend improvements for security, availability, reliability, and performance.
• Provide technical leadership to network engineering and operations teams.
