Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior on-site wireless engineer to lead enterprise and warehouse/DC wireless deployments, upgrades, and remediation projects worldwide. You will conduct site surveys, RF assessments, and post-deployment validation at TD SYNNEX facilities and coordinate with contractors and local IT teams.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years' enterprise wireless experience, hands-on Cisco Catalyst Wireless, Ekahau, iBwave, and AirMagnet, strong RF fundamentals, structured cabling

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of enterprise wireless networking experience
  • Experience with wireless networking in warehouses, distribution centers, or industrial environments
  • Hands-on proficiency with Cisco Catalyst Wireless or equivalent enterprise Wi-Fi platforms
  • Proficiency with Ekahau Site Survey, iBwave, AirMagnet
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including channel planning, transmit power, antenna patterns, RSSI/SNR optimization, and co-channel interference
  • Familiarity with structured cabling and low voltage installation standards, including TIA-568 and TIA-942
  • Working knowledge of WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP methods, and certificate-based authentication
  • Experience interpreting network drawings, floor plans, and as-built documentation
  • Ability to operate independently in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Travel domestically 40-60% depending on project pipeline
  • Provide on-call availability and work non-standard hours as required
  • Maintain and contribute to the global wireless asset inventory and CMDB records

Job description

  • Serve as the primary on-site wireless engineer for enterprise and warehouse/DC wireless deployments, upgrades, and remediation projects globally
  • Conduct wireless site surveys, RF assessments, and post-deployment validation at TD SYNNEX facilities worldwide
  • Execute wireless deployments with contractors, facilities teams, and the Costa Rica-based wireless architect
  • Troubleshoot and resolve RF interference, roaming failures, capacity problems, and coverage gaps in warehouses, distribution centers, and automation areas
  • Deploy and configure access points, WLAN controllers, and wireless management platforms across multiple vendor environments
  • Partner with the Wi-Fi Architect to validate physical implementation of design standards
  • Document site conditions, as-built configurations, and lessons learned for global design standards
  • Coordinate with local IT teams, facilities, and third-party cabling contractors on low voltage and structured cabling requirements
  • Support wireless security implementation, including 802.1X, RADIUS authentication, guest network segmentation, and WLAN security hardening
  • Maintain and contribute to the global wireless asset inventory and CMDB records
  • Travel domestically approximately 40-60% depending on project pipeline
  • Work in warehouse and distribution center environments
  • Provide on-call availability as necessary and work non-standard hours or overtime as business requires
Requirements
  • 10-15 years of enterprise wireless networking experience, with emphasis on field deployment and troubleshooting
  • Experience with wireless networking in warehouses, distribution centers, or industrial environments
  • Hands-on proficiency with Cisco Catalyst Wireless or equivalent enterprise Wi-Fi platforms
  • Proficiency with Ekahau Site Survey, iBwave, AirMagnet, or equivalent tools
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including channel planning, transmit power, antenna patterns, RSSI/SNR optimization, and co-channel interference
