Akkodis is seeking a Lead Network Engineer on a contract-to-hire basis for a client in San Bernardino, CA. The role focuses on enterprise WAN/LAN design, security, and high-availability, with 10+ years of progressive experience and expertise in TCP/IP, VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and firewall technologies.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with Meraki, Cisco, and Sophos hardware, plus scripting skills in Python or PowerShell. The position offers a 6-month contract with potential conversion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive network administration and security experience in high-availability, enterprise-scale environments.
• Expertise with WAN/LAN infrastructure, cloud architectures, data centers, and disaster recovery planning.
• Proficiency in networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, IPsec; OSPF/BGP/EIGRP; MPLS; SD-WAN; VLANs).
• Strong firewall knowledge (Sophos); experience with Meraki, Cisco hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise WAN/LAN design, implementation, and maintenance for client networks.
• Guide technical staff, resolve escalated network issues, and implement infrastructure improvements.
• Develop operational plans for network support and test Business Continuity/DR plans.
• Collaborate with multiple agencies to gather requirements and ensure system interoperability.
