Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize integrated, scalable on-premises networks for a federal government client.

You will lead network projects, manage IP space, deploy firewalls, and coordinate with cyber, RMF A&A, and systems teams to ensure secure, reliable operations.

A TS/SCI with polygraph, DoD 8140 IAT II certs, and 9+ years of networking experience are required; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
• U.S. citizenship required for clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of networking experience.
• DoD 8140 IAT II Level certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, etc.).
• 8+ years with Juniper/Cisco routers and switches; firewall deployment.
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize customer networks per ICD 503.
• Plan and lead network projects for installation and upgrade.
• Manage IP address space and routing across Layer 3+.
• Configure and maintain firewalls; monitor syslog events.
• Collaborate with CSOs, cyber security officers and RMF A&A activities.
• Assist cyber security officers to collect and report information during RMF A&A activities.
