Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks an IT Network Engineer Staff IV/V to architect and implement enterprise LAN/WAN and data center networks in a Cisco environment. This full-time, onsite role is based in Chantilly, VA, with national network support across 24 sites.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years (Staff IV) or 15+ years (Staff V) of experience, TS/SCI clearance, and strong Cisco SDWAN, ACI, and firewall expertise to deliver secure, scalable networks for national security initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field AND 10+ years of professional experience with all aspects of enterprise CONUS network operations.
• Active TS/SCI clearance (US citizenship required).
• Demonstrated expertise in Cisco SDWAN/IWAN technology and network automation.
• Expert-level experience with Cisco ACI and Nexus Data Center switches.
• Extensive hands-on experience with firewall theory, design, and configuration.
• Deep knowledge of Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center/DNA Center.
• 15+ years of professional experience with all aspects of enterprise CONUS network operations (for Staff V).
• Experience troubleshooting KG-175F and other encryption devices.
• Proven experience with EIGRP and BGP routed network deployments.

Responsibilities

• Architect next-generation networks: Design and implement high-availability enterprise WAN solutions utilizing SDWAN tech.
• Build scalable data center infrastructure: Design and deploy high-availability data center networks leveraging Cisco SDN technologies.
• Ensure robust security: Develop secure network segments using Cisco Firepower, ASA, and other Cisco security products.
• Innovate in our DevOps lab: Setup, configure, and test network designs in the DevOps lab in El Segundo.
• Lead strategic initiatives: Coordinate with network staff on implementation tasks and schedules.
• Partner with stakeholders: Interface with user community to understand connectivity requirements and costs.
• Drive fiscal planning: Assist in developing Network Services Department budgets.
• Stay ahead of the curve: Track industry trends and maintain expertise in emerging technologies.
