Job summary

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is seeking a senior IT/network professional to monitor and enhance our 24/7 communications systems. You will lead staff and external contractors, resolve complex network issues, and drive IT projects from planning to implementation.

Ideal candidates bring extensive network tech experience, CCNP desirability, and strong project-management, with a focus on reliability, security, and service quality.

Qualifications

• Nine (9) years of technical experience in communication systems/network technologies design, development, construction, implementation and maintenance.
• Five (5) years of technical experience ... and a bachelor’s degree in information technology, electrical engineering or related communications field; equivalent combination accepted.
• CCNP Routing and Switching certification is highly desirable.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Pennsylvania license within six months.

Responsibilities

• Lead/supervise internal staff and external contractors on projects.
• Monitor and optimize operation of communication systems and networks.
• Serve as Tier-3 problem solver for system issues and implement actions.
• Act as technical lead on IT projects and coordinate with managers.
• Plan upgrades and ensure security and functionality requirements.
