Job summary

DMI is seeking a Lead Network Architect to design and oversee enterprise-level network architecture supporting government systems in Maryland. You will lead cross-functional teams and define roadmaps aligned with security and performance requirements.

Required are 10+ years in enterprise networking, CCNP/CCIE, and strong knowledge of BGP/OSPF/MPLS/VPN/QoS. This role requires U.S. citizenship and fingerprint background check.

Qualifications

• CCNP or CCIE certification strongly preferred.
• 10+ years in enterprise network engineering and architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, and QoS policies.
• Proficiency in Visio, Cisco DNA, NetScout, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the implementation of enterprise-level network architecture to support mission-critical government systems.
• Define network standards, roadmaps, and modernization strategies aligned with federal security and performance requirements.
• Lead cross-functional technical teams in network engineering efforts, including SD-WAN, IPv6, cloud connectivity, and zero-trust frameworks.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate secure network design principles.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations to leadership on improvements and innovations.
• Ensure compliance with DHS, NIST, and FISMA guidelines in all network infrastructure deployments.
• Serve as technical authority in vendor management, solution evaluations, and major incident response.
• Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, design documentation, and executive briefings for internal and client stakeholders.
