DMI is seeking a Lead Network Architect to design and oversee enterprise network solutions supporting government systems from Maryland. You will define standards, roadmaps, and modernization strategies while coordinating with cross-functional teams and security teams to ensure robust, compliant deployments.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in enterprise networking, CCNP/CCIE, and experience with SD-WAN, IPv6, and zero-trust architectures.

Qualifications

  • BS in a related field; MS or PhD preferred.
  • CCNP/CCIE certification strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years in enterprise network engineering and architecture.
  • Experience with DHS or CBP and federal standards desired.

Responsibilities

  • Design enterprise network architecture for mission-critical systems.
  • Define standards, roadmaps, and modernization aligned with federal security requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in SD-WAN, IPv6, cloud connectivity, and zero-trust frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate secure network design principles.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide leadership with improvements and innovations.
  • Ensure compliance with DHS, NIST, and FISMA in all deployments.
  • Serve as technical authority in vendor management and major incident response.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, design documentation, and executive briefings.

About the Opportunity

DMI, LLCis seeking a Lead Network Architect to join us.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee the implementation of enterprise-level network architecture to support mission-critical government systems.
  • Define network standards, roadmaps, and modernization strategies aligned with federal security and performance requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional technical teams in network engineering efforts, including SD-WAN, IPv6, cloud connectivity, and zero-trust frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate secure network design principles
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations to leadership on improvements and innovations.
  • Ensure compliance with DHS, NIST, and FISMA guidelines in all network infrastructure deployments.
  • Serve as technical authority in vendor management, solution evaluations, and major incident response.
  • Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, design documentation, and executive briefings for internal and client stakeholders.
Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience: BS 10-12, MS 8-10, Phd 5-7

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • CCNP or CCIE certification strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, and QoS policies
  • 10+ years in enterprise network engineering and architecture
  • Proficiency in Visio, Cisco DNA, NetScout, or similar tools

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience supporting DHS or CBP highly desired
  • Familiarity with FISMA, TIC 3.0, and Zero Trust architecture models

Background Requirements: Must successfully pass a fingerprint-based background investigation.

Min Citizenship Status Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen
