Job summary

City of West Fargo is seeking an Assistant City Engineer to lead municipal engineering efforts, assist the City Engineer, and help manage the department’s programs and projects. The role focuses on planning, design, and operation of municipal infrastructure and requires a PE license in North Dakota and eight years of relevant experience.

The person will prepare technical reports, coordinate with Public Works and other departments, and assist with CIP and grant opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Eight years of relevant experience is required.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in North Dakota is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist City Engineer in managing the Engineering Department’s services, programs and activities.
• Review design and construction documents for compliance with city standards and ordinances.
• Lead design oversight for municipal infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare engineering reports for city boards, commissions and the public.
• Coordinate CIP planning and implementation with other departments and the public.
