Job summary

GCI Residential is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician for our Legacy Mount Pleasant community in Charleston, SC. You will lead on-site maintenance staff, diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance issues, and ensure safety and high-quality service for residents.

You will also inspect facilities, prepare homes for rent, manage work orders, and collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to uphold a welcoming community.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of multifamily apartment maintenance.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Verifiable hands on experience repairing plumbing, electrical, carpentry items, building exteriors and appliances.
• Demonstrate dedication to exceeding the needs of all customers and building relationships.

Responsibilities

• Leads and/or delegates on-site maintenance staff in diagnosis and repair of problems in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc., and records.
• Routinely inspects buildings and grounds for safety, appearance and efficiency.
• Maintain overall appearance of the community and safety of residents.
• Respond to a wide variety of residential service requests promptly and professionally.
• Prepare apartment homes for rent by performing repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, exteriors and appliances.
• Review all work orders and ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor to foster prideful community living for residents.
• Train, supervise, motivate and discipline on-site maintenance technicians as necessary with supervisor approval.
