Job summary

GCI Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our new Legacy Patriots Point community in Charleston, SC. You will help maintain a luxury rental property, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and high resident satisfaction from day one.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong reliability, and the ability to handle a non-traditional schedule including evenings and weekends. EPA certification or willingness to obtain will be needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in multifamily apartment maintenance.
• Experience repairing plumbing, electrical, carpentry items, building exteriors and appliances.
• EPA certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the community.
• Respond to resident service requests with troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Perform apartment turns and repairs related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, and pool/building exteriors.
• Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to uphold community standards and resident experience.
• Contribute to a positive team environment focused on quality service and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the community and grounds.
• Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests using strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Perform apartment turns and complete repairs related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, pool maintenance, and building exteriors.
• Partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to uphold community standards and create an exceptional resident experience.
• Contribute to a positive team environment focused on quality service and operational excellence.

Requirements

What we need:

• A minimum of 2 years in multifamily apartment maintenance
• Knowledge and experience repairing plumbing, electrical, carpentry items, building exteriors and appliances
• Dedication to exceeding the needs of all customers with an ability to build and maintain relationships
• Demonstrate thoroughness, self-motivation and organization when accomplishing tasks
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends and on -call hours

Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• EPA certification (or willingness to obtain) and substantial experience in making HVAC related repairs
