Job summary

York School District One seeks a Multi-Lingual Teacher to plan, coordinate, and implement a district-wide ML program in one or more schools. You will train colleagues and staff in research-based English language proficiency methods and collaborate with school leaders to support ML students' academic success.

The role requires SC certification or eligibility, a Bachelor's degree, and strong technology and communication skills.

Qualifications

• SC certification or eligibility for certification
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Strong technology skills and applications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• ML Endorsement or 3 of 5 ML endorsement courses with plan to certify within 1 year
• Experience working with MLLs

Responsibilities

• Consult with school personnel in the delivery and analysis of diagnostic assessments for determining English proficiency levels
• Collaborate with Language Arts and other teachers to plan instruction for MLs
• Plan, implement, and evaluate a district ML education model
• Schedule MLs into appropriate courses to meet social and developmental needs
• Maintain documentation of ML instruction and services
• Determine ML eligibility with staff
• Coordinate ML data collection and reporting with admins
• Analyze ML progress data to inform decisions and improve outcomes
• Participate in ML Committee meetings
