Job summary

UVA Health Outpatient Imaging Culpeper is seeking a Lead MRI Technologist to oversee daily MRI operations while performing high-quality imaging and patient care. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes safety, protocol adherence, and team mentorship in an outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of MRI experience, ARRT/ARMIT MR eligibility, and a radiology degree. You’ll drive continuous improvement, support staff development, and collaborate with radiologists and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as an MRI Technologist.
• ARRT in Radiography or ARMIT; MR advanced through ARRT/ARMIT within specified timelines.
• Must meet state licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI procedures with emphasis on patient safety and comfort.
• Lead and coordinate daily MRI workflow and department operations.
• Mentor and supervise MRI technologists and staff.
• Maintain MRI safety standards and accreditation requirements.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, training, and onboarding.
• Monitor image quality and adherence to MRI protocols.
• Troubleshoot equipment and workflow issues.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nursing staff, and referring providers.
• Support patient satisfaction and continuous improvement initiatives.
