Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation seeks a Lead MRI Technologist to guide a collaborative team while ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care. You will oversee QA, operations, and administrative tasks in MRI services across multiple sites, coordinating with radiologists and staff.

The ideal candidate has senior MRI leadership experience, NYS licensure, ARRT MRI Registry, and strong communication skills to train and support staff and improve processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience including 2 year minimum in a senior or lead technologist role
• Exposure to a wide range of MRI studies
• NYS License and ARRT MRI Registry certification
• New York BLS certification
• Demonstrated leadership proficiency in a team environment
• Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
• Able to work independently and manage priorities
• Contrast injection license preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients and staff; perform MRI and radiology procedures
• Review imaging requests for appropriateness with radiologist
• Position patient and select options for best case; observe for changes
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions
• Administer contrast media per protocol
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment and logs; perform QA
• Support recruitment onboarding and performance management for technologists
• Prepare accreditation materials and coordinate with vendors and IT
