This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2800 physicians, surgeons, dentists and nurses offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties. Up to 10K in Sign On Bonus.
Job Summary
The Lead MRI Technologist is an experienced professional who leads and coordinates the operational and administrative functions of MRI services. In this role the incumbent will lead a collaborative team of technologists by directing staff activities and overseeing quality assurance and control activities. The incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition processing submission for interpretation and archiving MRI images and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in the MRI area.
Job Summary
- Greet and interact with patients visitors vendors and all faculty and staffPerform MRI and general radiological proceduresReview imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and at the radiologists discretion the referring physicianPosition patient and select appropriate options to ensure best caseObserve patient while in the MRI area for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instructionJudge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretationOffer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriateAdminister contrast media via appropriate peripheral IV access as directedOperate and maintain equipment on a daily basis maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data schedule PM perform QA maintain records required for and participate in inspectionsPerform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition processing and archiving of patient recordsReview staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage on a daily basisAssign or coordinate MRI technologist coverageschedule to ensure that coverage is maintained especially during heavy demandSupport Practice Manager on recruitment onboarding performance appraisals and disciplinary activities for MRI technologistsManage day to day QC activities; delegate process as appropriate for the assigned andor satellite sitesMaintain and update Standard Operating Procedures SOP as assigned by the Practice ManagerManage or lead annual inspections ensuing QC and regulatory manuals are currentPrepare and submit ACR accreditation materials for MRIWork with vendors facilities IT and physics to evaluate new equipment installation and staff training to ensure equipment is ready for patient care
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalencyA minimum of 5 years relevant experience including 2 year minimum in a senior or lead technologist role; exposure to a wide range of MRI studies requiredNYS License ARRT certified MRI Registry certifiedNew York BLS certifiedDemonstrated leadership proficiency in a team environment including communication trainingknowledge sharing coordination delegation and problem solving skillsDemonstrated leadership in continuous improvement or quality initiativesDemonstrated experience developing Standard Operating Procedures SOPMust have excellent communication skills interpersonal skills and a strong ability to deescalate stressful situations Demonstrated ability to teach these skills to other technologistsCandidate must demonstrate strong aptitude for detail flexibility punctuality and ability to work independentlyMust demonstrate strong organizational and problem solving skills Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of facility policies and proceduresBasic proficiency in computer skills including but not limited to Electronic Health Systems Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word email systems etcWill provide coverage as requested throughout practices as needed multiple sites and flexible schedule including weekendsPrior experience with supporting recruitment training and performance management for technologists preferredState license to inject contrast preferred
Hourly Rate Ranges 6505 8432
