Job summary

BrioHR Pte Ltd is seeking a Lead Morning Cook for Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids, MI. This full-time role runs 5am–1:30pm, with some weekends, focusing on scratch cooking that nourishes and delights residents in a caring, community setting.

You will lead the kitchen team, ensure meals meet dietary needs and safety standards, and support on-duty management while delivering restaurant-quality meals to older adults.

Qualifications

• Age 18 years or older.
• At least 5 years of short order cook experience.
• Culinary education preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals.
• Assist with food preparation and setup for special meals, parties, catering, and events.
• Monitor meals to ensure residents receive correct meals based on diet orders, preferences, and allergies.
• Assist with onboarding, coaching, and training team members on procedures, food safety, sanitation, and service standards.
• Lead, inspect, correct, and report operational concerns to department management as appropriate.
• Serve as designated manager on duty and assume authority in the absence of department management or the Chef.

Description

Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week | Morning shift 5am - 1:30pm | Varies Monday - Friday | Every other weekend

As a Lead Cook in our scratch kitchen, you’ll have the opportunity to create wholesome, delicious meals that not only nourish but also bring joy to the hearts of older adults. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Five (5) years short order cook experience in a restaurant, café, food service kitchen or other related environment, required.
• Culinary Education, preferred.
• ServSafe Certification, preferred.
• Ability to participate in frequent stooping and bending, lifting up to 35 pounds.
