Job summary

Precision for Medicine in Houston, TX, seeks a Principal Scientist to lead design and validation of molecular assays (ddPCR, qPCR, NGS, Nanostring, FISH). The role combines hands-on experimental work with mentoring junior scientists and ensuring GLP, CAP, and CLIA compliance.

You will plan experiments, communicate project progress to clients, and prepare technical reports while upholding high quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in life sciences or related field.
• At least 8 years of full-time laboratory experience.
• Strong bench scientist with molecular assay experience (ddPCR, qPCR).
• Experience validating/qualifying assays to CAP/CLIA/GLP or ISO guidelines.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and troubleshoots molecular assays to meet client requirements.
• Oversees SOPs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Generates technical reports and presents data to clients.
• Trains and mentors junior scientists in lab techniques and data presentation.
• Supports client calls as the team expert and assists with project timelines.
