JK Moving Services is seeking a Lead Modular Installer to oversee complex modular furniture installations in Washington, DC. The role requires interpreting CAD layouts, modifying configurations, and integrating electrical, phone, and data components, while leading on-site installation efforts.

The candidate will mentor crew members, coordinate tasks, and uphold safety and quality standards across all project phases. Strong leadership and client communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 months as Modular Installer with Level I certification.
• Ability to read CAD prints and system furniture layouts.
• Strong leadership experience in crew coordination and training.
• Excellent client communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed layout instructions.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and reassemble all types of standard office furniture and conference tables.
• Modify layouts and advise clients on configuration options.
• Group, level, and secure file cabinets for stability.
• Troubleshoot electrical, phone, and data connections in modular systems.
• Interpret CAD prints and system furniture diagrams accurately.
• Document existing layouts with placard drawings.
• Install wall-mounted items (whiteboards, corkboards, TVs).
• Choose mounting hardware based on weight and surface type.
• Lead installation crews of up to 8 team members.
• Mentor Installer I and II teammates.

Overview

The Lead Modular Installer is a senior-level specialist responsible for executing complex modular furniture installations with precision and professionalism. This role requires advanced technical expertise in interpreting system furniture layouts, modifying configurations, and integrating electrical, phone, and data components. Leads on-site installation efforts, including troubleshooting and ensuring quality standards are met across all phases of the project.

In addition to technical execution, the lead Installer serves as a mentor and crew lead, providing guidance and hands‑on training to Installer I and II team members. This role supports crew coordination, fosters skill development, and promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and reassemble all types of standard office furniture and conference tables.
• Modify system furniture layouts and advise clients on configuration options.
• Gang and level file cabinets to ensure proper alignment and stability.
• Troubleshoot electrical, phone, and data connections within modular systems.
• Read and interpret customer CAD prints and system furniture diagrams.
• Document existing furniture layouts using placard drawings.
• Install wall-mounted items including whiteboards, corkboards, and TVs.
• Assess and apply appropriate mounting hardware based on weight and surface type.
• Lead installation crews of up to 8 team members.
• Mentor and train Installer I and II team members.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
