Job summary

The Sunrock Group seeks a skilled Diesel Truck Technician to service and maintain our fleet, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on diesel- and gasoline-powered equipment.

You will work with autonomy under general guidance, plan and schedule tasks, and lead junior mechanics while ensuring work meets company and manufacturer standards. Prior experience with heavy trucks and a valid license is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mobile Truck Technician or similar heavy‑equipment repair role.
• Formal training or extensive mechanical experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues independently.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and hardware from manufacturers.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, fluids, filtration, and diagnostics.
• Proficient with computers and maintenance/inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions using manufacturers’ software, tools, and testing equipment.
• Perform on-road repairs and shop-based maintenance under supervision.
• Lead and support fellow mechanics; assist with part requisitions.
• Research technical information and fabricate components from blueprints.
• Overhaul diesel and gasoline engines and major power train components.
• Test-drive equipment to confirm repair quality and functionality.
• Maintain records of labor, materials, and work in CMMIS.
• Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies.
• Complete assigned technical training and certification programs.
