Job summary

Sunrock Industries seeks a Diesel Truck Technician to service and maintain our diesel- and gasoline-powered fleet. You will diagnose, repair, perform preventive maintenance, and inspect equipment to keep the fleet operating at peak performance.

The incumbent works with autonomy to plan and execute tasks within policy, requiring strong mechanical expertise, problem-solving, and good judgment. You will mentor fellow mechanics and support multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificate or degree from a two-year technical school preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience and/or training required.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-road repairs and shop-based maintenance under supervisor direction.
• Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mixer trucks, dump trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions using manufacturers’ software, tools, and testing equipment.
• Complete operator-reported repairs and preventive maintenance tasks according to company and manufacturer standards.
• Lead and support fellow mechanics; provide technical guidance and assist with part requisitions.
• Research technical information and fabricate equipment components (hydraulic systems, towing attachments, shields, etc.) from blueprints or schematics.
• Overhaul diesel and gasoline engines and major power train components.
• Test-drive equipment to confirm repair quality and functionality.
• Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and completed work in the CMMIS.
• Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies.
• Complete assigned technical training and certification programs.
