Job summary

Asurion in Smyrna, TN seeks a Product Engineer Principal Technician to support hardware testing, disassembly/reassembly, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of mobile devices and electronics. You will train technicians, maintain fixtures, review reports, and collaborate with engineers on test processes and updates.

Experience with mobile OS (iOS/Android) and service/repair background is preferred; strong documentation and problem-solving skills are essential for ensuring quality diagnostics.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical or associate degree in electrical/mechanical technology or 6+ years electrical/electronic experience.
• Experience with mobile phone and PC troubleshooting and mobile device operating systems (iOS/Android) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and reassemble fixtures and components.
• Train team members on proper disassembly/reassembly techniques.
• Review reports and provide feedback and training to technicians.
• Maintain and update training materials and documentation.
• Approve and maintain UAT results, test device inventory and data.
• Collaborate with Engineers to identify and develop new-feature test processes.
• Support Operations and Help Desk in troubleshooting localized system issues and provide recommendations.
