Job summary

Fieldpiece seeks a Principal Mobile Architect to lead the technical architecture for our native iOS and Android apps and to build the in-house mobile team. You will work with external partners while owning architectural direction and hands-on development.

You will drive mobile standards, security, and performance while collaborating with product, embedded, cloud, and data teams to deliver integrated connected-device experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software development with 2+ years as a technical leader architecting native mobile apps.
• Experience with Swift/Obj-C or Kotlin/Java; AWS and cloud services; Bluetooth/BLE and IoT.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction for native iOS and Android apps.
• Establish in-house mobile engineering capabilities and standards.
• Architect integrations with Bluetooth/BLE devices, cloud services, APIs, and data platforms.
• Lead design and code reviews; balance scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, UX, embedded, cloud, and data teams to deliver connected experiences.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve development, testing, and code quality.
