Job summary

Fieldpiece, a global HVACR tools leader, is seeking a Principal Mobile Architect in Kamas, UT (hybrid) to lead the design and development of our native iOS and Android apps and to build the in-house mobile engineering capability.

You will define the mobile architecture, work with product and cloud teams, connect devices via Bluetooth/BLE, and stay hands-on while setting standards and guardrails. Travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development with mobile stack leadership.
• Proven track record delivering production-grade native mobile apps.
• Strong experience with Swift/Obj-C or Kotlin/Java and mobile frameworks.
• Experience with AWS, SaaS in cloud environments.
• Hands-on with Bluetooth/BLE and IoT devices.
• Ability to architect scalable mobile systems and lead reviews.
• Excellent communication across product, UX, embedded, cloud, and data teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction for native iOS/Android apps.
• Build in-house mobile engineering capabilities.
• Design integrations with BLE devices, cloud services, APIs, and data platforms.
• Set mobile architecture standards, frameworks, and guardrails.
• Make decisions balancing scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, embedded, cloud, and data teams.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
