Job summary

HP is seeking an Application Engineer for Multi Jet Fusion to lead development and validation of additive manufacturing applications using HP MJF. You will bridge sales, product development, and manufacturing to accelerate production adoption and drive value for customers.

You will apply DfAM, materials knowledge, and process optimization to move concepts to production, deliver technical presentations, support trials, and help shape product roadmaps while collaborating with cross-functional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in Additive Manufacturing or related technical roles.
  • Experience with Powder Bed Fusion (MJF/SLS) preferred.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and AM prep tools.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop high-value applications for HP MJF.
  • Assess feasibility, production readiness, scalability, and business viability.
  • Provide DfAM guidance and redesign recommendations.
  • Advise customers on material selection, process capability, tolerancing, surface finish, and performance requirements.
  • Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training programs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the customer adoption journey.
  • Develop scalable manufacturing workflows and best practices.
  • Optimize build preparation, packing density, nesting strategies, and production efficiency.
  • Conduct cost-per-part and Total Cost of Ownership analyses.
  • Partner with Sales, Channel Partners, and Business Development to uncover opportunities.
  • Support customer evaluations, proof-of-concept projects, and executive reviews.
  • Contribute to technical portions of sales pursuits and business cases.
  • Participate in customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Troubleshoot printing, dimensional, and mechanical performance issues.
  • Perform root-cause investigations and corrective action planning.
  • Standardize workflows to improve repeatability and consistency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in customer manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with Application Consultants, Professional Services, Product Management, R&D, Segment Teams, and Marketing.
  • Share customer insights to influence product roadmaps and industry strategies.
  • Develop customer success stories, application references, and technical content.
  • Support global knowledge transfer and best-practice development.
