Job summary

Firestorm seeks an Application Engineer in Additive Manufacturing to bridge customer needs with xCell production capabilities. You will develop repeatable manufacturing processes across additive and CNC, from design for manufacturing to first article, while supporting deployments in diverse environments.

This role combines hands‑on problem solving with field feedback to accelerate next‑gen equipment. The ideal candidate has a mechanical/manufacturing engineering background, 1+ years with MJF,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR; DoD security clearance.
• 1+ years hands-on experience with MJF (Multi‑Jet Fusion).
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• DfAM fluency — know how to make a part printable.
• Troubleshooting hardware and processes in dynamic settings.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer part requirements into validated, repeatable manufacturing processes across additive and CNC.
• Develop and qualify process parameters, materials, and part libraries/works instructions.
• Support deployments, train operators, and troubleshoot production issues in CONUS/OCONUS.
• Engage with warfighters to understand applications and translate needs into manufacturable solutions.
• Own first-article inspection and part qualification; drive fixes when fielded systems underperform.
