Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Hardware Design Engineer with expertise in mixed-signal design, FPGA and microcontrollers, and PCB design to lead hardware development from architecture through production. You will work closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver reliable, safety-critical hardware solutions.

The role requires 10+ years in hardware design, strong analog/digital circuit skills, and experience with SI/PI, EMI/EMC, and DFMEA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware design and development experience.
• Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with FPGA, microprocessors, and microcontrollers.
• Hands-on experience with mixed-signal systems and sensor interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of power supplies, signal conditioning, ADC/DAC, and filters.
• Experience with PCB design/review using Altium.
• Knowledge of communication protocols: SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, USB, Ethernet.
• Experience with signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis.
• Familiarity with SPICE/PSPICE simulations and hardware verification.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience with EMI/EMC, environmental testing, DFMEA, and reliability analysis.
