Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Hardware Design Engineer with strong experience in mixed-signal hardware design, FPGA/microcontrollers, analog & digital electronics, PCB design, and safety-critical systems. The candidate will lead hardware development from architecture through production, working closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams.

10+ years of hardware design experience, expertise in analog/digital circuits, PCB design with Altium, and SPICE simulations are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware design and development experience.
• Strong analog and digital circuit design expertise.
• Experience with FPGA, microprocessors, and microcontrollers.
• Hands-on experience with mixed-signal systems and sensor interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of power supplies, signal conditioning, ADC/DAC, and filters.
• Experience with PCB design/review using Altium.
• Knowledge of communication protocols: SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, USB, Ethernet
• Experience with signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis
• Familiarity with SPICE/PSPICE simulations and hardware verification
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
• Experience with EMI/EMC, environmental testing, DFMEA, and reliability analysis

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware development from architecture through production.
• Work closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams.
• Define robust hardware architectures for safety-critical systems.
