Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Mission Simulation Engineer III to lead the TeraWave integrated simulation framework across orbital mechanics, power, payload, and network domains. You will drive accuracy, performance, and cost-aware analysis for constellation planning and operations.

The role requires deep technical expertise and strong coding skills in Python/MATLAB/C++. You will collaborate across fleets, payload, power, and GNC teams to deliver high-fidelity simulations for decision support.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in aerospace, systems engineering, applied mathematics, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related experience in spacecraft systems engineering, mission analysis, or constellation simulation.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++, with multi-physics model experience.
• Experience in orbital mechanics, RF/optical link performance, or spacecraft power systems.
• Ability to read interface control documents and system requirements.
• Strong data analysis and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of the TeraWave mission simulation model.
• Develop high-fidelity orbital mechanics models and coverage analysis.
• Apply orbit optimization to maximize coverage and minimize cost.
• Build beam assignment and payload scheduling models for RF and optical links.
• Create simulation capabilities for ISL and ground-to-space links with link budgets.
• Model traffic routing and data flow across the constellation.
• Develop spacecraft power models for solar arrays and batteries.
• Support deployment phase timelines for planning and architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to align inputs and fidelity.
• Represent simulation results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
