Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Mission Simulation Engineer III to lead the development of an integrated TeraWave mission simulation model. You’ll work across orbital mechanics, spacecraft power, beam assignments, and traffic routing to optimize constellation performance while controlling costs.

You will partner with fleet management, payload, power, network, and GNC teams to ensure fidelity and deliverables meet program goals, with relocation and travel as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of spacecraft systems engineering or constellation simulation experience.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++, with multi-physics modeling experience.
• Experience spanning orbital mechanics, RF/optical link performance, or spacecraft power systems.
• Ability to read interface control documents and engineering specifications.
• Strong communication and data visualization skills.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead role in implementing, maintaining, and improving the TeraWave simulation model.
• Develop high-fidelity orbital mechanics models and coverage analyses.
• Create orbit optimization methods to maximize coverage and minimize cost.
• Build beam assignment and payload scheduling models for RF and optical links.
• Develop ISL and ground-to-space link simulation capabilities and link budgets.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to align simulations with subsystem designs.
