Job summary

Goebel Fixture Company in Hutchinson, Minnesota, is seeking an experienced Lead Millwork Project Drafter to join our Engineering team. You will develop custom architectural millwork drawings from design through manufacturing and installation.

This hands-on leadership role requires interpreting design intent, coordinating a drafting team, and delivering accurate, buildable drawings on schedule, while maintaining BOMs and project documentation across departments.

Qualifications

5+ years of drafting, detailing, and design experience in architectural millwork or custom fixtures.
Strong understanding of architectural drawings and shop drawings.
Experience coordinating complex projects and leading drafters.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Develop approval, shop, and production drawings for millwork and fixtures.
Interpret architectural drawings, specs, and customer design requirements.
Develop practical solutions balancing design intent, manufacturability, and installation.
Own assigned projects and keep drawings organized.
Maintain master finish schedules and project documentation.
Delegate work and review for accuracy.
Coordinate handoffs with Project Management, Production, Purchasing, Installation, and other departments.
Create and maintain Bills of Materials and manufacturing docs.
Identify and resolve design/manufacturing/installation challenges early.
Support Production and Installation with technical questions.
Help improve drafting standards and processes.
