Job summary

Mead School District in Washington seeks a Head Wrestling Coach for Mountainside Middle School (6th–8th) to lead the program for the 2026-27 season. The role includes instructing athletes, organizing practices 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m., supervising participants, and coordinating with the athletics director and parents.

The position offers an extracurricular contract with a salary range of $3,311 to $5,377 per contract and standard SEBB benefits. Identity and work authorization must be verified.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 or older for Assistant Coach and 21 or older for Head Coach.
• Must have current First Aid/CPR certification or be able to acquire it by the start of the season.
• Type II Driver’s License is preferred.
• Understand the activity/sport, its safety practices, techniques, rules, and progression of skill development.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes regarding the techniques, rules, and safety practices of the sport.
• Develops and organizes a practice program. Schedule and conduct practices according to agreed-upon schedules. Practice time is 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Supervise athletes from the scheduled beginning of the practice or game until the last athlete is picked up.
• Communicate with parents regarding team rules and athletic department guidelines.
• Follow the Mead School District Athletic Policies and Procedures.
