Achievement Prep, a public charter school network in Southeast Washington, DC, seeks an Elementary School Lead Teacher focused on Science for middle school scholars. You will drive learning with joyful rigor, using data to guide instruction and collaborating with SPED teachers and families.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Education, a valid teaching license or Praxis scores, and 2+ years of K-12 experience in underserved communities. Join us to close gaps and empower scholars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required.
• Teaching license or Praxis scores if not an education major.
• Minimum 2 years of K-12 teaching experience.
• Experience serving underserved communities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science to 2–3 groups of scholars daily.
• Implement a research-based curriculum.
• Personalize instruction for scholars with IEPs.
• Create assessments and use data to ensure mastery of standards.
• Collaborate with peers to set data-driven academic goals.
• Foster a joyful, consistent classroom culture.
• Collaborate and co-teach with Scholar Support (SPED) teachers.
• Engage with scholars and families to build trust and rapport.
• Support family events and communicate scholar progress.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to improve teaching practice.
• Integrate into the school community and take on additional responsibilities.
