Job summary

Reading School District in Southwest Middle School seeks a Middle School Head Coach to create a safe, positive environment, teach coaching techniques, and foster school spirit. Reports to the Director of Athletics & High School Head Coach and will supervise assistants and student athletes.

The role requires aligning with PIAA and district policies, flexible hours, and active involvement with youth programs, fundraising, and community relations to support RSD athletics.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.
• Preferable experience supervising in athletics, recreation, education, or related fields.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with adults and students in a diverse work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise middle school assistant coaches
• Supervise student athletes
• Plan and manage practices/training sessions
• Ensure safety measures and equipment care
• Communicate with RSD admin, staff, and youth groups
