Reading School District is seeking a Middle School Assistant Coach to support athletic programs with a focus on safety, inclusion, and personal development for student-athletes. The role offers a stipend set by the coaches pay scale and requires adherence to PIAA and district policies.

Responsibilities include supervising athletes, staying current on rules and safety, and fostering growth in sport and life.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer experience in supervision roles in athletics, recreation, education, or related fields.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including communication with adults and students in a diverse work environment.

• Communicate with youth groups and foster participation growth
• Be a good role model to student-athletes
• Support all RSD athletics

Furthermore the candidate will be responsible for assisting student-athletes to establish a life after high school while instilling Red Knight pride, connecting with youth programs, teaching education through athletics, and fundraising.

Physical Requirements

• Physically perform all skills required of a coach.
• Hear noises and distress signals in a crowded athletic facility.
• Able to withstand extreme weather conditions
• Able to lift at least 20 pounds.
