Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a detail-oriented Metrology Technician Lead in Midland, TX, with relocation provided. You will validate dimensions on satellite assemblies using high-precision equipment including CMMs, Laser Trackers, and 3D scanners, using Spatial Analyzer and PC-DMIS to ensure data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3+ years of hands-on Laser Tracker experience (REQUIRED).
• Minimum 2–3+ years using Spatial Analyzer (SA) software (REQUIRED).
• 3–5+ years in metrology, calibration, or precision measurement.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision measurement and alignment of large satellite structures using Laser Trackers, Romer Arms, CMM and 3D scanning systems.
• Validate assemblies against engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Execute alignment and verification activities for critical hardware.
• Analyze measurement data to identify deviations and non-conformances.
• Cross-functional collaboration to resolve dimensional issues and support production timelines.
