Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a detail-oriented Metrology Technician Lead in Midland, TX to validate critical dimensions on satellite assemblies using Laser Trackers, CMMs, and 3D scanning tools. You’ll lead daily metrology operations and coordinate production-focused measurement activities.

Ideal candidates have 2–5+ years in metrology with SA and GD&T proficiency, and experience in aerospace or large-assembly environments. Relocation is provided.

Qualifications

Minimum 2–3+ years of hands-on Laser Tracker experience.
Minimum 2–3+ years using Spatial Analyzer (SA) software.
3–5+ years in metrology, calibration, or precision measurement.

Responsibilities

Prioritize and schedule measurement requests based on production needs.
Assign tasks to Metrology Technicians to balance workload.
Coordinate overtime coverage including weekends.
Collaborate with second-shift teams and external contractors.
Communicate daily activities, priorities, and risks to QA Supervisor/Manager.
Support measurement strategy and best practices with cross-functional teams.
