Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a detail‑oriented Metrology Technician Lead to validate critical dimensions on satellite assemblies using advanced measurement systems, including CMMs, Laser Trackers, and 3D scanning. You will lead daily metrology operations, coordinate technicians, and prioritize production measurement activities.

You will work with Spatial Analyzer (SA) and PC‑DMIS to ensure accurate data collection, alignment, and GD&T compliance in a high‑precision aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3+ years of hands‑on Laser Tracker experience
• Minimum 2–3+ years using Spatial Analyzer (SA) software
• 3–5+ years in metrology, calibration, or precision measurement
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models

Responsibilities

• Dimensional inspection and alignment of large satellite structures
• Use Laser Trackers, Romer arms, CMM and 3D scanning systems
• Operate SA for data collection, alignment, and deviation analysis
• Generate detailed reports for engineering and quality teams
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and QA to resolve issues
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure GD&T compliance
