Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines seeks a Chief Metallurgist for the Phoenix operation to lead the safe, efficient metallurgical processing and to manage the operating budget. You will oversee gold and silver allocation with strict adherence to accounting standards.

You will drive plant performance improvements, review designs and test plans, mentor technical staff, and ensure QA, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting across our Battle Mountain, NV site. This role offers strong benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• BS in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering is required.
• 8+ years’ experience including supervision or project management.
• Strong knowledge of production drivers and operations.
• Expertise in gold pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy; experimental design.
• Six Sigma and DOE experience preferred.
• Experience supervising technical staff and presenting work.
• Proven ability to lead innovative projects from concept to design.
• Knowledge of metallurgical accounting practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate the process area safely and efficiently, managing the operating budget.
• Provide timely data and solutions to improve plant performance.
• Review designs and test plans for contract conformance and data accuracy.
• Review and edit reports to ensure contract and company requirements.
• Allocate gold and silver metallurgically; ensure accounting standards.
• Oversee metallurgical accounting portions of ore and carbon processing contracts.
• Inspect and evaluate onsite systems and design changes.
• Maintain QA standards.
• Foster productive, cohesive team environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
