Job summary
Timken is seeking a Metallurgical/Heat Treat leader at the Lincolnton, NC plant to guide metallurgical activities for wheel end hubs, tapered bearing races, and rollers. You will own heat-treat processes, provide technical input, and maintain alignment with corporate standards across multiple projects.
You will develop and enforce plant standards, lead the Metallurgical Laboratory team, and drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in metallurgy, materials or engineering required.
- Experience in metallurgical analysis.
- Experience in large improvement projects.
- Experience in manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead metallurgical planning for heat-treat processes and product lines.
- Analyze metallurgical quality issues for steel, forging, and heat treatment.
- Develop plant standards, technical instructions, and procedures.
- Ensure metallurgical integrity of all plant products and assist in problem resolution.
- Plan and execute large projects to improve quality, performance, or cost.
