Job summary

Allen Architectural Metals, Inc. is seeking a Lead Metal Technician/Preservation Specialist to lead restoration, fabrication, and finishing work on architectural metal projects. This role combines hands-on technical execution with strong team leadership to uphold craftsmanship and safety.

You will mentor a team of metal technicians, coordinate with shop staff and conservators, and ensure projects meet client specifications, deadlines, and quality expectations in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in craft, design, art, or related fields is a plus.
• 3+ years of hands‑on metalworking, construction, preservation, or related fields.
• Must have experience in bronze patinas and general knowledge of metalworking and fabrication processes.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a shop or field setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate restoration, fabrication, and finishing work on architectural metal projects.
• Oversee shop fabrication, repair, finishing, and patination with emphasis on quality and safety.
• Mentor team members in metalworking techniques and restoration practices; ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
