Job summary

DeBra-Kuempel is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex MEP and construction projects from preconstruction through completion. You will coordinate with superintendents, estimators, safety staff, field leadership, and unions to manage manpower, materials, equipment, and site logistics while representing the company with owners and vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of recent relevant experience in field operations and project execution.
• Proven leadership with strong problem-solving and negotiation skills in a union mechanical environment.
• Familiarity with local unions, apprenticeship structures, and labor coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and blueprints.
• Proficient in construction management and estimating software; strong MS Office skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; self-directed and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, coordinate, and oversee projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget.
• Represent the company in meetings with owners, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders with professional communication.
• Collaborate with superintendents, estimators, subcontractors, and safety personnel on manpower, sequencing, and productivity.
• Oversee field operations, site visits, crew supervision, shutdowns, and service work.
• Manage project documentation: RFIs, submittals, changes, permits, closeouts.
• Lead startup and ongoing coordination: kickoff meetings, weekly reviews, crew meetings.
• Contribute to preplanning: work sequencing, procurement, material handling, equipment planning.
• Strategically manage materials, tools, and equipment to maintain project flow and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with policies and codes; maintain safe job site conditions and training.
• Monitor performance: productivity tracking, cash flow, job cost forecasting, weekly reporting.
• Identify risks and schedule impacts; advise management on mitigation and corrective actions.
• Support estimating/preconstruction with walkthroughs and quotes; assist with handoffs.
