Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking an engineering professional to join our team of building commissioning engineers in New York City. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of experience in the construction, inspection, and/or design of MEP systems, can manage multiple projects, and has a passion for enhancing the built environment.

Responsibilities include budgets and schedules, coordinating with design and construction teams, executing Cx, RCx, M&V, and inspections, and preparing CFR + O&M plans, PFCs, and FPTs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in building MEP commissioning, inspection, or design.
• Experience with Cx processes and documentation (PFCs, FPTs).

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with design and construction teams, clients, and internal staff.
• Execute Cx, RCx, M&V, and inspection services for MEP systems.
• Prepare Cx documents such as Prefunctional Checklists (PFCs) and Functional Performance Tests (FPTs).
• Review design documents to preserve energy efficiency and ensure proper operation.
• Conduct periodic field visits to observe equipment installation and witness FPTs.
